I am an Indiana native, and have been a painter all my life. I studied painting at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana, where I also majored in Commercial Art and Advertising with a focus on commercial illustration. After working at several ad agencies and printing companies in Indianapolis, and founding a small graphics company, I decided to move south to Brown County, Indiana, to become part of Indiana's historic art community.
I am a member of the Midwest Art Colony in Nashville, Indiana, founded in the 1930's by such painters as T. C. Steele and Otto Stark and other turn of the century painters. This group of painters later became known as the “Hoosier Group”. I attend several Paint Outs a year and often paint on site in Nashville and other scenic Brown County locations. I work in the mediums of oils, pastels, acrylics, watercolors and pen and ink. My body of work includes historic architecture and town retrospectives, as well as my impressionist studies. I enjoy working Plein Air and prefer painting Ala Prima.
I hope one day to be able to paint full time as part of this art community. My next series of paintings will center around the historic architecture and scenes of urban life in Bloomington.
I hope you enjoy my paintings. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
Thank you.
